You can also print out a flag template here. This craft is great for having your child to request for the materials. Help your child expand his sentences when requesting. 2. 4th of July Picture Frame

What a great keepsake for your child! Your child can help create this cute frame and pick out a fun summer picture to put inside. The frames come with many different colored patriotic stars. Have your child request for the each star before gluing it on. Help your child expand his sentences when requesting, such as “I want the white star’. This craft is best for children 4 and up.

3. Patriotic Stamps

Your child can create a really cool patriotic picture with these stamps. Have your child request for each stamp. You can make the activity more advanced and create a barrier game with the stamps. Put a folder (barrier) between you and your child. Each of you take a sheet of paper. Provide each other with directions as to which stamps to use and where. For example, Put a flag stamp at the bottom of the paper. Take turns providing each other with directions. When you are done, remove the barrier and see if your pictures match. This is a great activity for following directions and learning how to give directions. Learn more about barrier games here. Making a patriotic picture with stamps is great for children 3 and up. Using the stamps for a barrier game is great for children 5 and up.

4. Patriotic Hat

Your child will love creating a craft that he can actually where on July 4th. The kit comes with all the pieces necessary to create this patriotic hat. The craft is great for following directions and also requesting for necessary pieces. After your child is done creating his hat, see if he can recall the steps he took to create it (Ex. “First I put the triangles on the plate”). Great for children ages 3 and up.
